Job Description:

Basic Purpose:
To provide a final inspection of all products produced by Taylor Power Systems, Inc. Develop and maintain systems checklist and photographs of each unit and implement quality strategies and plans to improve quality of all items received and stored. And to ensure the finished product conforms to bill of material specification.


Nature and Scope:
The incumbent in this position reports directly to the Product Support Manager. The incumbent receives work assignments from the Product Support Manager. The QA Inspector/Technician has access to the SPI manual which details procedures and policies for this job. Any major problems such as design changes needed or component failures are referred to his/her supervisor.


The incumbent serves as Quality Control for Taylor Power Systems working under the direct supervision of the Product Support Manager. This responsibility requires the incumbent to develop and implement sound quality management strategy covering the spectrum from vendor shipments received, production flow to storage.


The incumbent makes the final determination of acceptability of purchased parts, using such criteria as purchase order requirements, engineering specifications, and standard quality control practices and procedures. He/she will work closely with receiving personnel, who receive, identify, and check quality and general appearance of all incoming purchased parts.


The quality control responsibility requires this incumbent to establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues throughout the production process, as well as parts storage. He/she develops and maintains systems checklist to establish standards relating to activities and products within production.


This incumbent provides a final inspection of each unit to ensure it is built to bill of material specifications and sales order requirements. He/she maintains a check list of each item to be checked, which includes all electrical connections, ensures all nuts and bolts are properly tightened, decals are in proper location, oil and antifreeze are sufficient and that all units are photographed and all documentation is in order. He/she addresses any problems prior to signing the unit over for delivery to the customer. From these final inspections, the incumbent will make recommendations to the Product Support Manager for changes in production that will improve the product quality.


He/she will communicate with customers and suppliers if there are quality issues that need resolving.


Primary Accountabilities:
• Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans.
• Develop and maintain quality control check lists to establish standards relating to activities and products within production and to measure final product against customer order.
• Monitor performance according to agreed standards and take necessary action, advise, and assist.
• Inspects all finished units to ensure conformance to bill of material and that the Unit has no deficiencies prior to releasing for delivery to customer.
• Develop and maintain a data base of photographs of each completed unit and final inspection checklist filed by serial number.
• Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues throughout the production and parts warehouse.
• Provides a final inspection of each unit to ensure it is built to bill of material specifications and sales order requirements. Performs "nuts and bolts" inspection to ensure quality of unit. Addresses and ensures correction of any problems prior to signing the unit over for delivery to customer.



Requirements



Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Three to four years experience in a manufacturing environment would be a plus.
• Experience in mechanics would be extremely desirable.
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Communication skills.
• Technical writing skills would be an asset.
• Ability to multi-task.
