Senior Software Architect, Cybersecurity




Sterling Heights, MI




Contract Position



Support the global leader in the design, development, production, and sustainment of advanced military ground vehicles as a Senior Software Architect, Cybersecurity. Contribute to the safety and security of soldiers and allies by developing innovative cybersecurity software products.



Responsibilities:



  • Lead the design and development of advanced cybersecurity software for ground combat vehicles.

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable, object-oriented software solutions using various programming languages.

  • Perform software requirements analysis, design, and code implementation.

  • Develop and design frameworks for unit and functional testing.

  • Debug and resolve software issues discovered throughout multiple testing phases.

  • Ensure adherence to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) principles.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and evaluate hardware-software interfaces, operational performance requirements, and overall system design.

  • Maintain software in compliance with all accreditation and configuration control requirements.


Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Relevant cybersecurity technical certifications will be considered.


  • Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience (15 years preferred).

  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as C#, Java, C++, Rust, or Ada. Willingness to learn customer-specified languages is required.

  • Extensive experience in a Linux environment, including Bash scripting.

  • Experience with automotive or military embedded systems, including Linux device drivers, bootloaders, or system programming.

  • Familiarity with Networking and Inter-Process Communication (IPC) (e.g., TCP, UDP, Domain Sockets, SHM, Packet Capture and Analysis) and socket programming.

  • Understanding of Agile Software Development and experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo).

  • Experience with SELinux policy development is a plus.

  • Proficiency with software tools such as Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), version control (Git), and defect reporting.

  • Familiarity with user story and ticketing software (e.g., Rally, Jira, Asana).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).


  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance (Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible; interim clearance required before start).

  • Flexibility to work non-duty hours or weekends as needed by the project (overtime compensation provided).

  • Must meet Anthropometric Size Requirements for access to military vehicles and be able to climb on and pass through hatches.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a strong passion for cybersecurity.
