Senior Mechanical Engineer




Middletown, RI




Contract Position




$65.93 / Hourly



This position is supporting the next generation in developing mission critical systems for our national defense. You would be a part of creating the most effective and state of the art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies working with our military.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Summary: Design, build, and test a torpedo tube deployment system for launching payloads from submarine platforms.

Qualifications:

• 
  Education:
  
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with 8+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Clearance:
  
  
  
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Technical Expertise:
  
  
  
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD tools for mechanical modeling and drawing.
  
  
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as industry standards.
  
  
  • Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
  
  
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.
  
  
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects to successful outcomes.

  • Strong communication skills, with experience in writing technical papers and proposals.
