ATTRIBUTES
Two (2) years related work experience in a healthcare or customer service setting
Excellent computer skills
Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding documentation requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and make decisions
Detail-oriented and organized
RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Management. Provide and log access to protected patient information as required by HIPPA; retrieve paper and/or electronic medical records upon access verification by HIM Tech Senior team members and/or HIM leadership; retrieve and track all discharged records to ensure 100% of records are received into the HIM department
Documentation. Initiate and verify all components of the medical record are imaged and released to the electronic medical records (EMR) or other system; scan and index documents with clarity and legibility (ensure quality) into the legal electronic medical records
General Maintenance. Perform a variety of clerical duties including: data entry, faxing, copying, mailing, phone calls, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $17.00 - $18.50
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
