Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in and understanding of advanced accounting principles including general ledger, balance sheets, accounts receivable/payable, etc. The accountant is responsible for reporting, including preparation of monthly close (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow), monthly Metric reporting for Corporate, quarterly reporting requirements, monthly forecasts, management reporting, cash availability reporting and budget assistance. Active involvement in process improvement (e.g., data collection, system processes, internal controls, etc.) as it relates to reporting responsibilities, developing new reports for management, and assisting in operational reporting requirements. Interaction with various levels of Finance, Budget, Operating Staff and Management. Typically possesses five or more years' experience in accounting.



Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload



The Accountant will be in the Controller's department within Southern California Edison's (SCE's) Finance Organizational Unit. The successful candidate will be working in the Capital Asset Accounting (CAA) team. He/She will also be responsible for monthly journal entries, analyzing and monitoring population of projects ready for true up, performing account reconciliations including identifying, investigating, and resolving invalid items within work orders and general ledgers, and data analysis. Additional responsibilities are perform non energy billings including Claims, Relocations, and other 3rd party billings.
