We are seeking an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams who will be working on the design aspects of our state-of-the-art anaerobic digestion facilities with biogas upgrading for our customers in the US. Our projects range from preliminary engineering to complex engineering-procurement-construction management (EPCm) efforts. A DAY IN THE LIFE



As a leader of our team, you will be responsible for a full range of activities including:




  • Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.




  • Establish, lead and mentor the project team in the preparation of detailed design deliverables, including establishing appropriate design methods, conducting engineering and process design, equipment sizing and selection, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and design deliverable preparation.




  • Identify project staffing resource needs throughout project lifecycle, including internal and subcontracted engineering partners, and manage day-to-day resource planning to execute design tasks.




  • Manage and mentor all technical levels within the design engineering team.




  • Drive effective utilization of staff across project tasks, maintain action lists and delegate work in support of effective development of engineering design deliverables




  • Ensure quality standards and reviews are met in technical aspects of the project including planning, design execution, Safety-in-Design, external vendor relationships, communications, resource management, project schedule/scope/budget, and quality control.




  • Possess adequate technical competency of all aspects of project scope to allow for effective integration and delegation of project tasks.




  • Review and perform (as necessary) engineering calculations for substrate and gas processing equipment sizing and selection, piping systems, pump selection, heat transfer and treatment process optimization.




  • Identify project issues and outline plan/approaches for evaluation and correction.




  • Perform construction, fabrication and start-up oversight with our partner fabrication shops, process/equipment vendors/suppliers, and (sub)contractors.




  • Work closely with project manager/project engineer to regularly review project status and forecasts.




  • Oversee quality control and quality assurance tests and ensure designs are compliant with our and our clients' technical requirements and budgets.




  • Create plan for individual team member growth and conduct check-ins for progress;




  • Serve as a key client technical contact




  • Travel to the project sites (domestic and international travel as needed, estimated up to25%).




  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.




  • Participate in Company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.




  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends




  • Maintains professional licensure in multiple states.




  • Obtains additional state licensure as required for projects.




  • Engineer In Responsible Charge for design projects as assigned.




  • Perform other duties as needed to support our business.



NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil/Environmental, Chemical or Process Engineering from an accredited university




  • 12+ years of engineering-related experience in related field




  • Prior experience with direct leadership and/or mentorship of engineering teams




  • Professional Engineering Registration




  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline teams and motivate others




  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management




  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills




  • Solid time/project management skills




  • Able to handle multiple assignments and oversee multiple teams.




  • Working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, SCADA, structural and architectural disciplines




  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD




  • Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)




  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
