Mystic Healthcare offers endocrinologist medical services in Medford and the surrounding Mystic Valley and Greater Boston areas. General Summary



We are seeking a full time, 40-Hour RN to support the practice Monday through Friday. The ideal schedule is 7:00am- 3:30pm on Monday and Tuesday -Friday we are open 8:00am-5:00pm (shifts are stagged accordingly during that time). As a Hybrid opportunity, this position entails onsite coverage 4 days per week and remote coverage 1 day per week after successful completion of onboarding period.


The Diabetes Management Registered Nurse is responsible for conducting health assessments and diabetes education according to established American Diabetes Association curriculum. This Nurse will work most closely with our two endocrinologists.


Responsibilities include:


• Conduct troubleshooting concerns about blood sugar, diabetes medications, including insulin, and use of technology such as continuous glucose monitors and pumps.


• Help triage phone calls from patients with other endocrine diagnoses


• Assists the patient in monitoring of blood glucose readings/patterns within glycemic goals as specified by the provider.


• Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the RN scope of practice, including but not limited to: injections, blood draws, catheterizations, EKG's, etc.


• Assist in lab specimen preparation; follow up on results as needed.


• Coordinate outreach for quality measures. Identify patients that have not met quality measures. Performs chart review and orders appropriate testing, perform outreach contact to patient.



Qualifications

Education/Experience



  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program

  • Licensed to practice as an RN or NP in the state of Massachusetts required

  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred

  • Minimum of one year of insulin and glucometer education and one year of pump and sensor (CGM) education

  • Endocrinology or ambulatory experience preferred
