The Coordinator of the Center for Understanding, Belonging, and Experiences (The CUBE) is responsible for student development, learning outcomes, and assessment through programs and services offered through the CUBE. The Coordinator serves as one of the campus leaders responsible for campus-wide equity and inclusion efforts and is part of the Student Affairs leadership team, reporting directly to the Dean of Students.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Manages the Center for Understanding, Belonging and Experiences including the selection, training, and supervision of student staff.
In consultation with leadership, develops, designs, and maintains diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion programs to support students, faculty, and staff around campus-wide organizational goals. This may include but is not limited to training, and advice on diversity-related topics, such as: cultural understanding, bias, recruitment and retention strategies, inclusive terminology, and team dynamics, to a variety of audiences.
Develops communications (email, social media, etc.) and serves as liaison to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging program participants, collaborators in other units, community partners, and leadership members.
Serves on various committees and provide input on strategic direction for the department or unit. Works with the Dean of Students on student bias related incident response, co-chairs the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Advisory Board with the Dean of Students and provides partnership to equity and inclusion initiatives across campus.
Proactively collaborates with campus partners on inclusive programming and services, including Enrollment Management, Athletics, University Relations, Communications, etc.
Supports campus events undergraduate and graduate programs with inclusive programming and support services.
Regularly create program goals, outcomes, and assessment measurements for programmatic efforts.
General Responsibilities

Develops communications and serves as liaison to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging program participants, collaborators in other units, community partners, and leadership members.
Provides mechanisms, training, and advice on diversity-related topics, such as cultural understanding, implicit bias, recruitment and retention strategies, inclusive terminology, and team dynamics, to a variety of audiences.
Recruits, trains, directs, and schedules students and volunteers. Mentors, serves as a resource and provides guidance to team staff members as needed.
May serve on various committees and provide input on strategic direction for the department or unit.
Arranges staff travel, accommodations, and research activities as necessary.

EDUCATION

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
