Purpose/Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a Materials Analyst for the Golden Triangle Polymers facility located in Orange, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.
The Materials Analyst position will report directly to the Procurement Manager and is responsible for ensuring the effective and accurate flow of inventory into and out of the warehouse and that the warehouse operates in accordance with overall company policy. The Materials Analyst works closely with manufacturing, maintenance, stores personnel and suppliers to establish optimum inventory levels and manage Material Master data to support plant operations. The successful candidate will be an advocate for safe work and housekeeping practices, proficient in required computer skills, a self-starter, andcapable of working and communicating effectively with others.
This position will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.
Responsibilities
Manage current stock levels and make key decisions about inventory control
Lead and coordinate new material add process (MRO), evaluate new material requests, and provide recommendations to Purchasing Management
Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate material planning
Manage Material Master Data (Descriptions, Min/Max, Criticality, Quality Info Record, Bin location, etc.)
Oversee the VMI (Vendor managed inventory) program, ensuring proper materials and financial sustainability
Provide troubleshooting and problem resolution support for storehouse processes
Identify excess and obsolete inventory (MRB Review) and make appropriate recommendations for removal
Coordinate sales of obsolete items with Surplus Vendor
Develop and report performance metrics to Purchasing Management
Oversee warehouse role in the plant repairable process for stock material, including coordination with Repair Coordinator, and Repairs Buyer to ensure the process flows efficiently and effectively
Responsibilities (continued)
Manage MRP non-released warehouse stock materials
Respond to customer complaints and comments to resolve issues
Conduct SOX testing for cycle counting and the Material Review Board (MRB) process
Coordinate with delivery services to ensure timely deliveries of material
Assist Turnaround Group with material requirements for planned turnarounds
Communicate with Vendors regarding non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Manage material return process
Provide backup support for the VIM (Vendor invoice management) process
Substitutes for Materials Management Supervisor as required
Required Qualifications
High School diploma /GED (or higher education)
Strong ability to analyze data from multiple sources and compile information in an easy-to-understand format (Spreadsheet, PowerPoint)
Strong presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, PowerPoint
A minimum of 5 years experience usingSAP Materials Management
A minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing warehouse setting
Excellent leadership, interpersonal writing, and verbal communications skills
