Kforce is looking for a Mid-Level Data Scientist to join our client team to leveraging advanced AI and machine learning techniques to solve complex problems. We are seeking a talented Data Scientist with a strong focus on Computer Vision (CV) to join our innovative team. You will be working remote.
Responsibilities:
Research and integrate state-of-the-art algorithms for image processing
Develop deep learning models for various computer vision applications
Utilize neural network architectures such as CNNs (including R-CNNs, Mask R-CNNs), transformer-based models (including ViT, LayoutLMv2), GNNs (including GCNs), and GANs for document processing and data sample generation
Detect, classify, analyze, parse, and interpret images extracted from documents, including charts, graphs, plots, and diagrams
Apply multi-modal large foundational models (generative AI) to the processing and understanding of images
Conduct advanced document layout analysis and element segmentation from complex, artifact-heavy digitized documents
Integrate OCR for extracting text from images, such as axis labels and legends, to accurately map visual data to real-world values
Build data extraction pipelines that convert visual data into structured formats (e.g., tables, JSON), ensuring scalability and performance in a production environment
Develop solutions that convert visual data from images (e.g., plots or graphs) into structured data (e.g., tables of points)
Perform data post-processing, including validation and refinement of extracted data to ensure accuracy and consistency in structured outputs
Utilize deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
Ensure compliance with strict security requirements and the ability to perform tasks in air-gapped environments
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
3-5 years of experience in computer vision and machine learning
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java
Experience with computer vision libraries and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Strong understanding of neural network architectures and their applications in computer vision
Experience with OCR technologies and integrating them into data pipelines
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with generative AI models and multi-modal large foundational models
Knowledge of document layout analysis and element segmentation
Experience with production-grade data pipeline development
Familiarity with data post-processing and validation techniques
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
