The Light Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks within a facility, ensuring that equipment, fixtures, and systems remain in good working order. This role focuses on minor repairs and general upkeep, addressing maintenance needs quickly and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working with a variety of tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door handles, repairing minor leaks, and patching walls.
Address minor plumbing and electrical issues such as unclogging drains or resetting circuit breakers.
Assist in maintaining common areas by ensuring that surfaces, fixtures, and facilities are clean and in working condition.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential maintenance issues.
Perform light maintenance on equipment such as changing filters, cleaning air vents, or lubricating moving parts.
Notify supervisors of any equipment or system issues that require more extensive repairs.
Complete basic carpentry tasks such as hanging shelves, assembling furniture, or adjusting door hinges.
Assist with painting, drywall repairs, and other light cosmetic repairs as needed.
Follow safety protocols when working with tools, equipment, and chemicals.
Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and comply with company safety policies.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Experience
Previous experience in light maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role preferred
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and light equipment.
Good troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements

Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
Standing for extended periods of time
Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking
Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods
Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie
Close visual work on a computer terminal
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform
