Job Title:Facilities Operations TechnicianDepartment:Veterinary Medicine | College Administration

The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine educates more than 650 veterinary students, 150 house officers and graduate students each year and the Veterinary Health System cares for more than 80,000 canine, feline, equine and farm animal patients each year. With 9 buildings totaling close to 600,000 sf the facilities assistant plays a critical role supporting the college's clinical and academic facilities managers. We are looking for a self-motivated individual that enjoys working in a team environment with excellent communication, coordination, and planning skills to work as part of the facilities management team ensuring the day-to-day operations.



This position serves as a resource in providing support for the day-to-day general administrative activities, including but not limited to completing requisitions in support of facilities operations, creating and following up on S2F work orders submitted to the university's facilities operations department, prioritizing and fulfilling internal requests by college and hospital faculty and staff, and serving as a cost center asset tracking specialist by assisting with tracking and disposal of equipment and inventory, checking on and logging incoming packages as needed



Supports preventive maintenance and compliance activities through regular checks of life-safety equipment, daily facility walk-throughs and assists outside contractors, auditors, inspectors as needed.



Must be able to lift 100lbs. Previous experience and excellent knowledge of hand tools and power tools, as well as an understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry). Certificate in maintenance related fields in desired. Exposure to biohazard waste, zoonotic diseases, and animal dander.

Additional Information:

High School diploma or GED required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.




Target Salary Range: $20.02 - $26.33 per hour.



Hours of work are 7:30 am - 4:30 pm; Monday through Friday, some evenings and weekends may be required.
