The Opportunity:


As the Administrative Assistant, you will report directly to the Assistant to the Dean, providing high-level administrative support to ensure efficient operations in the Carson College of Business (CCB) Dean's Office. In addition, you will provide administrative support directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and secondary support to the CCB International Business Institute and Marketing and Communication units. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting senior executives with daily administrative tasks; preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and other documents; overseeing office operations and procedures; coordinating and managing special projects and events; ensuring compliance with university and college policies and procedures; assisting with budget preparation, monitoring, and forecasting; and analyzing information and providing insights and recommendations to support decision making processes. You will also support faculty affairs and research activities, including but not limited to promotion and tenure, faculty annual review, and professional leave.





Required Qualifications:




  • High School graduation or equivalent AND four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work; OR equivalent education/experience.




  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.




  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.




  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details.




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).




  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data and preparing reports.







Preferred Qualifications:




  • Bachelors in business administration or related field OR equivalent education.




  • Experience working with grants.




  • Experience working within a higher education setting.




  • Experience working with budgets and forecasting within higher education.




  • Knowledge of faculty processes such as tenure and promotion, annual review, or equivalent experience.

Monthly Salary: $3,999 to $5,370 | Range 46, Steps A - M | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
