Full-Time Lecturer

The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a fulltime Lecturer for 2024-25, with the possibility of renewal. We seek outstanding applicants with a demonstrated track record of excellence in teaching. Evidence of interest and success in mentoring underrepresented students is highly desired.

Howard University is currently classified as an R2 research university with aspirations and actions underway to achieve R1 status. It is a residential campus of approximately 13,000 students located in the heart of the nation's capital, Washington, DC.

Required Minimum Qualifications:


  • Earned PhD in Chemistry from an accredited institution;

  • Record of effective teaching; and

  • Effective communication and organizational skills
