(Contingent upon available funding): 14.50 - 17.75, Hourly Work Schedule: 8am - 5pm or TBD by Supervisor Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Are you passionate about preserving the beauty and integrity of historic university buildings? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in exterior building restoration.Exterior building restoration on university buildings involves a variety of tasks, including tuck pointing brick and stonework, removing and replacing aged caulking and backer rod at expansion and stone joints, and cleaning all windows and glass door fronts. This work also includes brick and stone removal, concrete repair, and operating a high-pressure washing system to clean the exterior of campus buildings, walkways, and steps. The working conditions are determined by the weather and materials used, as all the work is performed outside and exposed to the elements throughout the year. This job requires working on roofs of varying heights and pitches, as well as the ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, or high-lift equipment. Workers are regularly exposed to disagreeable conditions, extreme temperature changes, odors, and loud noises.The employee in this position is required to regularly stand, lift, bend, stoop, lift above shoulders, and carry weights of 50 pounds or more, with job lifting requirements potentially exceeding 100 pounds. Overtime work after 4:30 pm and shift work may be necessary as determined by management. The role also demands the ability to perform snow and ice removal tasks and respond to management's scheduling at any time, regardless of weather conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and safety glasses, is provided for workplace use. Required Qualifications:

High School/GED with four years of prior successful work experience in the building trades or technical field


OR


Two years post-secondary education in building trades or technical field with two years of prior successful maintenance experience


Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.


Ability to lift, climb and maneuver 40-foot ladders.Ability to become proficient in the use of "AiM" computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology.Must work safely and promote a safe environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational/TechnicalTwo years post-secondary education in the building trades WITH four years of prior successful maintenance experienceExperience in power washing, tuck pointing brick and stonework, removing and replacing aged caulking and backer rod at expansion and stone joints, removing and replacing aged caulking around all windows and entry doors, cleaning all windows and glass door fronts.Brick, and stone removal, and concrete repair.Dryvit EFIS-patch and repair.Experience in making necessary roof, gutter, downspout repairs using a wide variety of roofing materials.
