Job Description Summary


Reporting to the Managing Director of Online Learning, this role will lead the design and planning of online learning initiatives with the Wharton Online team and collaborating faculty at Wharton/Wharton Executive Education. The Director of Instructional Design & Content Strategy (IDCS) is responsible for the creation, and development of Wharton Online courses and program, which include courses and programs offered through Wharton Online and its platforms and third-party partners. The Director of Instructional Design & Content Strategy will lead and direct the planning, creation, design, and development of Wharton Online programming. Primarily, this role will be responsible for leading and managing the design of online and blended programs for Wharton Online.




Job Description





DUTIES:



  • Designing and developing of online professional development programs with faculty member(s) and staff. He/she will work with faculty to develop innovative, sophisticated and robust educational solutions, design curricula, and identify faculty to deliver program content that enhances and meets the learning objectives of participants and/or clients.

  • Developing learning modules and curating content for online learner communities; content may be custom, existing, or from other Wharton sources.

  • Collaborating with faculty members to design highly interactive virtual classroom sessions and webinars.

  • Managing all logistics, communications, and client relations during design phase of program and prepare for hand off to implementation and delivery team.

  • Assisting in the creation of post-program survey design to produce data on learner success and program objectives.

  • Developing and fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni and corporate partners to cultivate and lead content strategy and design in the Wharton Online space.

  • Other duties as assigned.






QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Master's degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years' experience in classroom, online, mobile learning technologies preferred. Experience in using Zoom, Webex, Canvas, Qualtrics, Coursera/edX and other learning management systems preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of HTML required. Advanced knowledge is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of video editing software is preferred. Willingness to learn is required.

  • High level of technical acumen required to explore and figure out new tools and technologies.

  • Ability to work with a diverse set of individuals in a customer facing situation required.

  • Flexibility in scheduling working hours preferred because this position is expected to support virtual classroom sessions which may be scheduled early morning or late evenings.
