(Contingent upon available funding): 17.25 - 21.00, Hourly Work Schedule: M-F 8 am - 5 pm Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Fire Protection Publications is a mission-driven, values-based organization dedicated to the production of high-quality educational content for the international community of firefighters and first responders.As the Marketing Specialist, you will develop and implement content across multiple platforms to highlight the product line and organizational values of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA), an organization with an 87-year history of producing high-quality educational content for the international community of firefighters and first responders and Fire Protection Publications.To succeed in this position, you will demonstrate an understanding of strategic communications, be proficient in marketing and outreach strategies, and write in a style that is adaptable to various audiences across a multitude of media types. You will be highly organized and will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will coordinate with individuals from across our organization, including management and leadership, to collect feedback to improve both internal and external communications. Education & Experience Position Qualifications:



Required Qualifications:

High School/GED

Two years of related work experience in content creation, editing, publishing, and campaign implementation or planning.Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience Knowledge of AP Style.


Applicants must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well the ability to organize materials, write, edit, visualize concepts, communicate and interpret goals, including demonstrated proficiency in the use of AP style and adaptive writing.Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal skills and effectively handle multiple contacts or stakeholders for projects. Ability to work cross-functionally with unit leadership, supervisors, and unit staff to ensure collaborative environment, coordinated efforts, and maximized outcomes.Demonstrate knowledge of communications and aligning content with audience needs. Must learn quickly and adapt to a quickly changing environment. Demonstrate creativity, integrity, and passion for growing the IFSTA brand.Demonstrated understanding and application of FPP's organizational values: Service, Quality, Integrity, and Collaboration. Highly organized, ability to set and maintain schedules, excellent writing skills, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, attention to details, planner, ability to delegate, time management, respectful, confident, know how to take command, know how to make decisions, know how to face problems, ability to influence and guide a group toward a common goal, empathy, action/solution-oriented, productive/results-oriented, continuous learner.



Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing


Three years' experience in communications, including but not limited to writing, video, print and electronic content creation and/or related tasks/projects.
