The General Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Chief Plant Operator. The position is responsible for all routine preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment at the Sugar Grove Campus. This includes all heating and cooling systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain andmonitor heating and cooling systems. To include Inspection, replacement ofv-belts, air filters, & grease bearings.


Assistwith HVAC system trouble shooting & repairs.


Safelymaintaining chemical treatment for heating and cooling systems. Closed Loops-primarilyperform daily testing and make necessary operational adjustments as needed.


Performmonthly boiler safety inspections and testing.


Performmonthly fire extinguisher inspections.


Performannual Science Building Hood air flow certification testing.


Performbasic plumbing repairs which include sinks, toilets, urinals and water fountains.


Safelytroubleshoot 120V, 208V, 480V control circuits. Perform basic electrical repairand maintenance.


Assistmechanics as required.


Assistwith Snow Removal.


Performother duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High schooldiploma or equivalent required.


Two years employment in related field.


Valid driver's license and a clean driving recordrequired.


Team player, ability to work well with others.


Excellent customer service skills.


Physical ability to lift 80lbs occasionally.


Ability to work from ladders or scaffolds and lifts.


Good communication skills, both oral and written.


Ability to do frequent climbing, standing, crawlingand walking.


Ability to work with minimal supervision.


Able to perform basic work order functions withsmartphone, computer and related devices.
