Our interns don't run errands - they're here to make a real impact at the company!  As a BAF Firmware Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of the Software Engineering team. In this role, you utilize technical skills to assist the team in developing and testing embedded firmware that interacts with our hardware! In your first week, you'll dive into an exciting project you'll work on throughout your internship. At the end, you'll get to present your findings and recommendations to BAF executives. We'll provide a supportive, fast-paced environment focused on learning; you bring your attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once. Our success is a result of the diversity of the Big Ass Fans team. Responsibilities   

• Select and procure development boards, microcontrollers, motors, and sensors, to prototype embedded systems that meet product requirements.


• Build and troubleshoot prototypes.


• Work independently to develop and test embedded firmware that interacts with the hardware and satisfies system requirements.


• Track changes to source code using git version control system.


• Present your work to professional engineers, get feedback, and make improvements.

Requirements   

• Currently a Junior or Senior, pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering


• Must have experience with C, C++ and Python


• Hands-on and curious.  Capable of building things, debugging, and making improvements


• Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented


• A strong communicator who listens well, asks good questions and also communicates ideas clearly and confidently
