Senior Technical Program Manager - Quality Engineering

Are you an experienced program manager with strong technical knowledge in software quality engineering, analytical and leadership skills to identify the largest business opportunities across large organizations, strategizing, creating and managing roadmaps with prioritized requirements, influencing broad adoption of tools and processes, managing delivery of large, complex technology initiatives, and reporting business metrics?

We are building out the full-stack platform that allows domain teams to be productive in end-to-end flows from onboarding to transacting and evolving their technical and business successes.

What you'll do:

  • Shape the future of Expedia Group by bringing a blend of product, strategy, and program management competencies to our portfolio of high visibility initiatives.
  • Create, execute and manage effective prioritized roadmaps and detailed plan of execution with strategy and requirements derived from your deep analysis of largest business needs across the organization such as opportunities from quality gaps causing production issues and your close interactions with stake holders understanding their pain points.
  • Lead all aspects of program management including planning, overarching strategy and prioritization summation, OKRs, measurable expected outcomes, project schedules and time frames, setting measurable goals, progress tracking via metrics, resolution of issues and dependencies, reporting and program communication.
  • Work closely with engineering managers to translate requirements into epics, user stories, etc. for consumption by development teams, and conduct scrum meetings, retros, internal and external demo sessions. Lead large, long-range initiatives while delivering value incrementally by operating in an agile, rapid development environment.
  • Assist with a holistic approach by ensuring that all components: structure, people, process and technology are identified and accounted for maximum efficiency across organizational boundaries.
  • Keep relevant stakeholders informed of progress, changes to project schedules, and their impact.
  • Proactively manage risk, working with the team to anticipate new risks and lead mitigation planning.
  • Create clear, concise, intelligible, audience-appropriate, tailored, and organized communication materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages and technical documentation).
  • Drive engineering discussions and reduce engineering re-work as an expert.
  • Track and report actual business benefits and metrics of our deliverables demonstrating their impact in solving the largest opportunities for our organization.
  • Drive broad adoption of our Quality Engineering solutions across the organization demonstrating progress of adoption via metrics and stakeholder feedback.
  • Provide coaching and support on quality engineering, tools and processes to engineering teams. This also involves in-depth understanding of the technical details of our Quality Engineering solutions and processes to be able to answer questions in our support channels or unblock stake holders during adoption.

Who you are:

  • Extensive experience in all aspects of program management including creation, execution and management of effective prioritized roadmaps translated to epics and stories, agile process, strategy, prioritization as per analysis of business benefits, OKRs, project schedules, setting measurable goals, progress tracking via metrics, resolution of issues and dependencies, optimizations of resources for productivity and quality, reporting and program communication.
  • Ability to keep abreast of the progress of multiple tracks working with distributed teams across time zones. Expert in applying and leading Agile methodologies. Experience structuring large initiatives in effective and meaningful ways, driving their execution and demonstrating business outcomes and publishing them via reports with data and metrics.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of Quality Engineering tools and processes.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to see the "big picture" while also diving into details for maximum efficiency.
  • Creative decision-maker who can work independently and apply hands-on quantitative analysis to come up with the largest business opportunities and trade off decisions, measurable business outcomes, OKRs and metrics.
  • Proven ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results by working across subject areas and coordinating across organizational boundaries, coaching and supporting teams.
  • Create clear, concise, intelligible, audience-appropriate, tailored, and organized communication materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages, surveys, technical documentation).
  • Excellent influencing and collaborative skills, ability to drive broad adoption of solutions and best practices across the organization demonstrating progress via metrics and stakeholder feedback.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of related experience in Technical Program/Product Management, Agile/SCRUM, and Quality Engineering in a technology company.
  • Strong proficiency in tools such as PowerPoint, Microsoft word Confluence, Tableau, and Excel.

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $157,500.00 to $220,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $252,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
