This position is for Stevens students currently enrolled. Must have a fulltime status. Bachelors Degree required. This is a part-time position.

The student will focus on the development of cutting-edge technologies for detecting and treating lung tissue injuries. The student will utilize an ultrasensitive biosensor developed by my team, which integrates computerized force and strain sensors to measure the mechanical properties of soft tissue, including lung tissue. With this biosensor, the student will investigate how the dynamic deformation mechanics of lung tissue are affected by injuries caused by the inhalation of acidic fluids. Simultaneously, the student will utilize an acoustic signal detection and analysis system established in my lab to explore the potential role of sounds recorded from the lungs as biomarkers for lung injuries. Using acquired acoustic data, the student will correlate injuries with the characteristics of the acoustic signals.
