School Bus Driver at Des Moines Public Schools in Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description:

Des Moines Public Schools is Iowa's largest provider of K-12 education and was recently named one of America's Best Midsize Employers by Forbes Magazine.

DMPS is seeking school bus drivers for the 2024-25 school year. No experience is required. Paid training and assistance with the certification process.

Required:

• Work morning and afternoon shift daily, other hours may be available.
• Twenty (20) years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within a 60-day period.
• Ability to obtain State of Iowa School Bus Operators permit.

Position Details:

• 178 Days
• Shift: Monday through Friday, Academic Year, Split Shift
• Salary: $22.19 per hour starting July 1, 2024

Hiring Bonus of $2,000 for new bus drivers, $5,000 for experienced bus drivers.

Enrollment in IPERS, a defined benefit plan.
