Hours and Compensation • $75,000 per year • 40 hours per week with overtime as needed (Mon - Fri: 8 AM to 5 PM Eastern) • 15 days paid personal leave per year • 7 additional paid holidays that our office is closed • Health insurance • Profit-sharing available after 2 years of employment
Estimating - 70% of worktime • Quoting our products
o Interfacing with our customers
o Estimating the structure and freight charges
o Providing the proposal and preliminary drawing to the customer
o Customer service to assist with the project planning phase
o Reviewing bid drawings and specifications for projects where competitor's products are specified to provide a quote for our comparable product • Update pricing worksheets with current costs
Sales - 25% of worktime • Managing estimating email inbox for sales inquiries and leads • Answering phones • Customer follow-up • Attending company product rep trainings
Additional - 5% or worktime • Attend national trade shows 2 to 3 times per year • Visit our vendors & rep groups 2 to 3 times per year • Remotely attend team meetings
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint • Strong Math and Analytical Skills: Required for accurate cost calculations, forecasting, and budgeting. • Sales and Negotiation Skills
o Understanding of the sales process and ability to develop competitive and profitable estimates while aligning with customer needs.
o Skills in negotiation and closing deals, along with the ability to communicate complex cost breakdowns to clients clearly. • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate bid submissions. • Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities
o Capable of analyzing data, breaking down project components, and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities or risks.
o Proficiency in assessing risk and contingency planning to provide realistic cost estimates. • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure all components and costs are accounted for, minimizing errors in estimates, and avoiding budget overruns. • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating detailed proposals and presenting estimates to clients and internal teams.
o Ability to build strong client relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, operations). • Time Management and Organizational Skills: Effective management of deadlines, prioritization, and balancing multiple projects with varying levels of complexity.
