Role Summary
Conducts highly complex analyses and evaluates data and reporting to deliver business insights to diverse stakeholder groups. Responsible for advanced data visualizations to assist business stakeholders. Continuously improves data analytics processes.
Responsibilities:
Quantitative Research Support for Product Initiatives
Utilizes strong data science skills (see below) to build quantitative models to support complex research tied to key Product Group initiatives. Acts as SME for the quantitative modeling approach
Collects large amounts of data coming from disparate sources and transforms into a more useable format
Solves investment product-related problems using data-driven techniques
Works with a variety of programming languages (e.g. R, Python)
Has a solid grasp of statistics, including statistical tests and analysis, machine learning, decision tree, etc.
Looking for order and patterns in data, as well as spotting trends that can help support new commercial growth, defend existing strategies or evolve our ways of analyzing our products and strategies
Presents the analysis to a cross-functional team of senior leaders in Product to help form the recommendation that the senior leaders in Product will make to senior firm leaders for new product development (new strategies, product changes, new pricing models, etc.)
Collaborates with a cross-functional team to develop, iterate and socialize the initiative with firm leaders across Distribution, Investments and other Enterprise teams.
Create, Automate and Optimize a Library of Product Insights Reports and Dashboard
Operates as a SME in data visualization, providing both reactive and proactive consultative guidance for the Global Product Group
Leverages strong technical skills (e.g. SQL, R, Excel VBA) to better automate existing product insights reports for Product leaders and associates across the Global Product Group.
Utilizes strong project management discipline to ensure the product manager (“the visionary” and requestor) is kept abreast of status
Consult with other members of the BIO team for assistance in determining the best data to leverage
Trains the product manager and their product analyst on how to refresh the modified report or new report and acts as an SME for consultation going forward to help them with continued iterations of the report
Serve as a Product Owner or key contributor role to the Product Owner for new business intelligence dashboards.
Communicates and collaborates with both GBS and Global Product
Assures the Agile team is pursuing the Product Vision during the sprints
Drives delivery of the Product Backlog
Acts as the daily “voice of the customer”
Knowledge of the capabilities of business intelligence tools (i.e. Qlik Sense, Power BI)
Serve as a SME on the data in scope for the project and use good commercial judgment on the best approach to use the data
Project Management & Customer Service
Provides strong transparency through regular, proactive status updates to Product Business Intelligence & Optimization leadership and business stakeholders on all active projects
Independently leads active and assigned project work, partners with Product Managers and/or Product Lead Team members in Product to establish project scope and target completion, escalates to Product Business Intelligence & Optimization leadership when applicable
Leverages strong technical skills and training in developing user-friendly, self-service and professional gradereports, dashboards, and analytical models.
Promote best practices related to data visualization, analytical modeling, tools, consulting, and presentations - may develop or train others in these areas
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 8+ years of total relevant work experience
Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Qlik Sense, Microstrategy, PowerBI, Tableau)
Statistical modeling coursework and training
Strong and genuine interest in pursuing a career in the investment management/financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Tree, etc.
Prefer Candidates with Quantitative Majors such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, Financial Engineering, Finance, etc.
Data & Research experience
In pursuit or plans to pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification
Strong desire to automate reporting
Interest in Diversity and Inclusion type business resource groups
Experience in creating training manuals and onboarding new associates to new tools
Experience with third-party market data (Morningstar, eVestment, Strategic Insights, Lipper)
FINRA Requirements
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to three days a week.
Base salary ranges:
$146,000.00 - $248,000.00 for the location of: California, New York $128,000.00 - $219,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C $116,500.00 - $199,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and All other US locations
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
