Associate Financial Advisor

Professional, service oriented and self-motivated individual looking to be part of a successful, fast growing Northwestern Mutual wealth management firm. Willing to put others first and help clients and potential clients achieve financial security.

A registered Associate Financial Advisor (AFA) specializes in client service and processing of variable products and other securities, such as Mutual Funds, and to ensure the maintenance of an efficient, organized, and compliant office that allows the Financial Advisor to focus his/her energy around building client's relationships and revenue generating activities. The associate advisor is a liaison between the home office, financial advisor and clients.

At the discretion of the advisor, the responsibilities may also include preparing presentations for the FA using the planning software, process proposals and prepare annual review paperwork. If the AFA is making suggestions or alternatives regarding the preparation of the plan for the FA, the AFA with require the appropriate registrations. If the AFA is performing these duties, they will also be responsible for data administration, which includes the following responsibilities:

SUPPORT
• Handle case notes, processing correspondence, maintaining client case files, and filing new statements, account forms and other insurance and investment related material
• Ensuring investment and insurance compliance requirements are implemented and followed
• Maintaining annual review notes and mailing annual review letters to clients
• Verify paperwork is completed correctly; note information still needed and supply list back to the FA

PROPOSAL AND CASE PREPARATION
• Gathering information for financial advisor's meeting with client/prospect
• Preparing advisory annual review information
• Preparing and modifying plan and investment proposals
• Preparing letter of instruction for client signature
• Preparing investment policy statement, needs-based analysis or financial plan

INSURANCE SERVICE SUPPORT
• Review insurance applications, conversions and policy changes for completeness and accuracy
• Arrange medical, paramedical and any exams necessary for underwriting
• Provide current status and account values for insurance policies
• Process incoming insurance service requests from clients (address changes, bank change information, loan requests and ISA service inquiries)

INVESTMENT SERVICE SUPPORT
• Preparing and processing all paperwork needed for investment accounts
• Receiving and forwarding checks and related paperwork to investment operations area
• Processing and monitoring funding of advisory account and asset transfers to ensure selected asset allocation is implemented
• Accepting redemptions/withdrawals from clients and communicating instructions to home office
• Maintaining daily follow up system for account follow-ups and service requirements
• Running performance reports

QUALIFICATIONS
• SIE, Series 6 (or Series 7) and Series 63 or gain registration immediately upon employment
• Health and Life licensed or gain licensing immediately upon employment
• Financial Service of Insurance Industry experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with high degree of accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks at a time; along with proactive problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and embrace a career development plan
• Ability to embrace change and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually
