POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Accounting Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial operations and financial reporting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and transparency of our financial information while providing strategic guidance to senior management. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is capable of independent problem-solving. The candidate should have experience with operational accounting, building ledgers and processes. The candidate should be comfortable moving between various tasks, and confident in their ability to attack new challenges head on. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Financial Systems and Controls: Establish and maintain financial controls and systems that ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization; prepare financial analyses for contract negotiations and investment decisions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks and opportunities for the company.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to create efficient and effective processes and procedures for the accounting function
  • Assist in onboarding new portfolios (Coordinating with IT, Operations and Management)
  • Work with Operations Director to assist on day-to-day projects and client requests.
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Treasury Teams on monthly servicer reports, payment & expense reconciliations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Experience (Public/Private) CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in MS Excel.
