Job Description - Financial Advisor

The duties of a Financial Advisor are to provide expert financial advice and guidance to clients, helping them to achieve their financial goals and objectives. This role involves analyzing clients' financial situations, developing personalized financial plans, and recommending investment strategies and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong people skills, a solid understanding of financial markets, and a commitment to client service.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their financial needs and objectives. Conduct regular meetings with clients to review their financial plans, investment performance, and market conditions.
  • Financial Planning: Analyze clients' financial situations, including income, expenses, investments, and risk tolerance. Develop comprehensive financial plans tailored to each client's goals, including retirement planning, estate planning, tax strategies, and investment management.
  • Investment Management: Monitor and adjust clients' investment portfolios based on performance and changing financial circumstances. Research and recommend investment solutions and strategies that align with clients' financial goals.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and changes in financial regulations that may impact clients' financial strategies. Provide clients with updates and insights on relevant market conditions and investment opportunities.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all financial advice and transactions comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. Maintain accurate and organized records of client interactions, financial plans, and investment recommendations.
  • Client Education: Educate clients on financial concepts, investment strategies, and the importance of financial planning. Conduct workshops and seminars to promote financial literacy and attract new clients.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the client base. Leverage networking and referral relationships to generate leads and expand market presence.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Possesses detailed knowledge of company's mission, goals, and services offered.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and people skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage time efficiently, multi-task effectively, and must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have strong independent problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field plus previous work experience in an advisory capacity is required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Series 65 license is required. Certifications in the financial industry are encouraged.

Work Environment
  • Client facing time will be spent in an office setting, or at public venues for company sponsored and participating events.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • Due to the nature of the business the work environment may be fast paced and intense at times.

Salary and Benefits
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience. Additional incentive-based compensation may be paid based on performance and company profitability but is not guaranteed.
