Chief Financial Officer

Important: This is a fractional EQUITY ONLY position until Seed Funded - projected to be 3-4 months

The Role:

As our CFO, you'll be the architect of a financial future that ensures economic equality through cutting edge financial tools and models. Compensation is important but you've done well for yourself and it is secondary to making an impact with a team of brilliant, like-minded colleagues.

Responsibilities:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Hands-on management of bookkeeping, financial planning, analysis, and reporting
• Ensure investor due diligence materials are always up-to-date and accessible.
• Leverage existing investors network to secure strategic investments and growth opportunities.
• Comfortable with utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity and streamline financial processes.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with investors, providing regular updates and insights.
• Create and maintain financial models and forecasts to guide company growth and decision-making.
• Participate in high-level negotiations involving compensation, clients, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop and implement financial controls to ensure operational and financial integrity.
• Conduct annual financial audits and quarterly compliance audits to ensure regulatory and fiscal accountability.
• Monitor and report weekly cash flow, identifying potential issues and opportunities for optimization.
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team with limited resources, fostering innovation and adaptability.

Global Fundraising & Strategic Planning:
• Develop compelling financial models to secure funding.
• Heavily contribute to fundraising efforts through building and leveraging relationships within existing qualified networks.
• Create growth strategies that deliver outsized returns.

Risk Management & Compliance:
• Derisk, Derisk, Derisk: Continuously manage and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with financial and HR regulations.
• Exhibit strong and ethical stewardship of capital.

Skills & Aptitude Requirements:
• Fast-paced decision-maker, able to move quickly and effectively in a dynamic, evolving business landscape.
• Strong leader, capable of inspiring teams and driving results in high-pressure situations.
• Exceptional negotiation skills, consistently securing favorable outcomes in high-stakes discussions.
• Excellent relationship-building skills, nurturing long-term relationships with both investors and employees.
• Proven success in senior finance roles, ideally within high-growth, tech-driven environments.
• Expertise in fundraising and capital structuring, including mastery of debt and funding instruments, with a passion for aligning financial strategy with company mission.
• Extensive experience with modern financial tools and technologies, including FinTech platforms and solutions.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, translating complex financial data into strategic, actionable insights.
• Strategic thinker, adept at translating global business objectives into actionable financial goals.
• Collaborative leadership approach, with the ability to foster teamwork and mentor future leaders.
• Strong passion for innovation, with a keen interest in integrating technology into financial services.
• Deep understanding of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and their potential transformative applications in finance.

Education & Experience:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, International Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance role, preferably within a high-growth, technology startup.
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding rounds for early-stage companies.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain technology and its potential implications for the financial services sector.
