Job Description:

The Accounting Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role oversees transactions, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and the general ledger. In addition, the Supervisor supports month-end and year-end closings while also managing compliance, including sales tax and annual filings.

Responsibilities:
  • Hands on responsibility for daily accounting operations, which include accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting and compliance.
  • Supervises team of 2-4 team members, ensuring the department accomplishes accounting objectives by selecting, onboarding, assigning, managing, and mentoring employees.
  • Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
  • Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
  • Assist with Annual Audits.
  • Partners with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies.
  • Ensures all accounting practices are following legal guidelines and established accounting principles.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting required, CPA is a plus
  • 5-7+ years of progressive work experience. Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify areas in need of improvement, develop a plan of action, and deliver results.
  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.
  • Oracle and Epicor experience preferred; large scale ERP experience required.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
