The Accounting Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This role oversees transactions, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and the general ledger. In addition, the Supervisor supports month-end and year-end closings while also managing compliance, including sales tax and annual filings.
Responsibilities:
Hands on responsibility for daily accounting operations, which include accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting and compliance.
Supervises team of 2-4 team members, ensuring the department accomplishes accounting objectives by selecting, onboarding, assigning, managing, and mentoring employees.
Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations.
Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
Assist with Annual Audits.
Partners with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies.
Ensures all accounting practices are following legal guidelines and established accounting principles.
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting required, CPA is a plus
5-7+ years of progressive work experience. Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to identify areas in need of improvement, develop a plan of action, and deliver results.
Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and financial reporting standards.
Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.
Oracle and Epicor experience preferred; large scale ERP experience required.
Multi-site manufacturing experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
