Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial analysis and reporting with regard to Operations-focused FP&A. This role will be a highly visible part of our Field Financial team, providing insight and analysis to 33 airline catering units throughout the U.S. This position will require a high degree of proficiency with developing their own tools and solutions within the Microsoft Suite, including Excel and Access.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working within the Gate Gourmet financial tools, provide weekly, monthly, annual, and ad hoc analysis and recommendations. This includes existing legacy programs as well as other existing Excel and Access-based programs.
  • Prepares detailed analysis of cost overruns with savings recommendations.
  • Prepares professional presentations of monthly and yearly results for use by internal stakeholders as well as customer presentations.
  • Interfaces and partners with key Finance personnel with the customer to explain monthly results and opportunities.
  • Working with the Field Finance Manager FP&A, develop additional analysis and programs that support BU Controllers with the information they need to evaluate the business.
  • Assists with preparing the annual budget for the DL units and preparing presentations for the customer.
  • Acts as a liaison between Finance, Operations, and Commercial with issues and opportunities relating to Operational profitability and costs.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent or related field required

Work Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or equivalent.

Job Skills:
  • Must have exceptionally strong computer skills in the following programs:
  • Excel: VBA, pivot tables, lookups, creating and auditing complex formulas
  • Access: VBA, building new databases, creating and auditing complex queries
  • PowerPoint: Being able to produce high-quality professional presentations
  • HFM/Smart View, SAP: Basic knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to develop creative solutions independently and implement using technical programs detailed above.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment in a strong team-based department.
  • Must have strong and effective communication skills with multiple levels of management in a matrix environment.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills required
  • Must be innovative in making changes
  • Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing or food environment

Language / Communication Skills:
  • Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with management and staff.
