Your role:
At MilliporeSigma, as a Buyer Planner - Lab Materials, you are primarily responsible for the ongoing procurement and negotiations of cGLP/cGMP materials, equipment, supplies and services that meet the quality standards of the company. This role may evaluate and analyze supplier quotes, negotiate prices, maintain relationships with suppliers, resolve supplier issues and ensures orders are delivered on time. You will perform duties required to purchase indirect and direct materials for cGLP/cGMP laboratories, equipment and/or services necessary for the operation of the site.
Generate, review and/or analyze purchase requisitions and purchase orders
Monitor inventory levels of assigned materials to ensure minimum stock levels are maintained
Lead and/or assist with sourcing, negotiation and supplier selection that meet the company's quality, price, and delivery requirements
Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors
Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with suppliers on late orders
Communicate late order, backorder, or supply disruption information to internal departments. Work to resolve issue to avoid testing disruptions
Work with inventory groups, finance and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicing
Set-up and maintain material, supplier and planning system data in the MRP/ERP system to include accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
Prepare metrics/KPIs and reports on purchase activity and supplier performance
Support Supplier Quality in monitoring supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery
Coordinates on-site supplier visits with internal departments
Maintain relationships with MBS (Merck Business Services) accounts payable and purchasing teams, finance and LSS (Life Science Services) sourcing teams
Perform other duties/special projects as assigned
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in any discipline with 2+ years' industry experience
Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 4+ years' industry experience
High School diploma or GED with 8+ years' experience in a Supply Chain field
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain management, Engineering, Scientific or Business
Experience in purchasing, buying, planning and/or related supply chain work
Experience in cGxP environment
Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures
Strong organizational and problem-solving skill
Proficiency in using data analysis tools (Excel, etc.)
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
Ability to work effectively in a team and cross-functional environment
Practical knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, Oracle, or equivalent ERP systems
ASCM/APICS certification
Pay Range for this position - $49,500 - $148,900
