Summary: The Sr. Supply Chain Manager is responsible to drive innovative supply chain management strategies, actions and initiatives to ensure the site will meet or exceed all strategic goals and objectives, plus ensure customer satisfaction. You will effectively lead the Planning, Purchasing and Inventory Control Teams to ensure corporate and plant goals and objectives are met for each of these departments.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and facilitate a high-performing Supply Chain Organization, which includes Purchasing, Planning and Inventory Control Departments, deliver enterprise expertise to Spartronics Integrated Supply Chain
  • Drive and foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on continuous improvement and supply chain operational excellence
  • Owner of Plant SCM KPI's and Metrics and the management, execution to meet/exceed goals and objectives. Develop and implement KPI's/Metrics that will track and improve SCM activities and overall performance
  • Drive the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Supply Chain strategies, processes and procedures, systems, tools, KPI's and metrics
  • Responsible for customer interface from SCM, including relationship management and as focal point for all SCM related issues and communication needs
  • Responsible to develop, coordinate, manage and execute accurate planning strategies and activities for production, materials and inventory control. Ensure timely material deliveries, accurate and adequate inventory levels, optimal utilization of resources, effective procurement processes and the on-time delivery of end-product to the customers
  • Drive capacity planning accuracy to maximize resource utilization, manage overtime costs, and ensure on-time delivery of customer orders
  • Communicate any major changes to the production schedule/plan to various departments, securing approvals, and authorizations as required
  • Ensure effective materials sourcing to improve cost, quality and on-time delivery of materials to support the production build plan, identify and implement annual material and logistics cost savings goals to enhance Spartronics profitability and competitiveness in the marketplace
  • Manage the administration of site purchasing contracts and agreements
  • Drive and manage to achieve materials profit and loss goals,
  • Escalation support for Buyers as required for sourcing issues and negotiating activities as required
  • Manage and innovate Vendor Managed Inventory Programs
  • Management of materials inventory levels to meet company inventory turns goals/objectives and inventory accuracy to meet company goals/objectives, including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Ensure the proper storage, transactions and movement of all inventory.
  • Drive materials inventory accuracy via cycle counts or physical inventory counts to meet company goals and objectives
  • Support Quality Assurance for supplier issues resolution, assisting in performing supplier audits as required, plus assist to prepare, distribute and follow-up on supplier scorecards
  • Provide guidance on customer and supplier quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service, as required
  • Ensure conformance to company policy and compliance with customs and regulatory laws. Maintain compliance with all applicable State, Provincial and Federal laws
  • Negotiate or supervise the negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Participate in, or manage project excess and obsolete and / or end of life processes
  • Support corporate metrics and audits as required
  • Participate in Program Reviews (New Product Reviews and Product Design Reviews) as required
  • Provide financial and non-financial information as required to support business-planning operations
  • Ensure that all employees under the supervision of this position are properly trained, motivated, and are team focused
  • Perform management functions in accordance with established policies and procedures in a proactive and positive manner.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures pertaining to the planning, purchasing and inventory control functions, plus provide effective policy leadership and direction.
  • Drive an environment of continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles, techniques and processes, tools

Requirements:

  • Able to work onsite (this is not a remote or hybrid position).
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related degree program is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job responsibilities may be considered.
  • A minimum of Five (5) years of experience with proven results managing planning, purchasing and inventory control is required, Ten (10) plus years of experience is preferred
  • Must be able to work onsite.
  • Lean Six-Sigma Certification is preferred, Green or Black belt certification a plus. APICS certification is also a plus
  • Contract Manufacturing experience with complex electronics, electromechanical devices, circuit card assemblies and printed circuit board experience is a plus.
  • Expertise in using and utilizing Excel to manage and analyze data and create reports
  • Expertise with ERP/MRP systems in conjunction with planning, purchasing and inventory control functions
  • Superb leadership and management skills and ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; an ability to function in a collaborative environment; sensitivity to others; high integrity and intelligence; excellent judgment; an innovative and strategic thinker, and an ability to generate trust and build alliances with co-workers
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative, team based, high performance management environment. Work well with the existing management team by being a good listener and a team builder
  • Ability to negotiate with customers and suppliers as required
  • Ability to write contracts, agreements, reports, business correspondence, and processes or procedures
  • Experience and an above average working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs such as Outlook, Teams, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation communication skills and strong attention to detail
