Team Lead-Forge 2nd Shift at Hendrickson in Medina, New York

Job Description:

Position Purpose:



Responsible for assisting the supervisor in doing hourly checks, changeovers, length changes and tooling tightening. Gets dies ready for changeovers. Assists where needed, which may include Shear, Line, Material Handler, Shipper, and Wheelabrator.


Hourly Pay: $21.75



Essential Functions:



• Analyzes work orders, work piece, and blueprints to determine process, materials, machines, tooling, and sequence of operations.


• Assigns tasks to workers and specifies methods of coordinating workflow to meet production schedules.


• Supervises set-up of machines.


• Performs hourly checks of s-cams using precision measuring devices.


• Supervises processes such as forging, shears, wheelabrators, and shipping orders.


• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.

Education and Training



• High School Diploma/ GED

• Blueprint reading & Precision Measuring Skills

Minimum Qualifications:



• Must be able to read and write English, and read a tape measure


• Good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work well with others


• Must be able to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment such as calipers, snap gauges, micrometers, etc.


• Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills



Physical Demands



• Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively


• Ability to stand continuously for 8-12 hours


• Must be able to lift up to 100lbs



Environmental Conditions:



• Exposure to loud noise and hot, humid conditions


• Double hearing protection and eye protection required at all times in all production areas


• Steel toe boots with metatarsals required at all times.
