BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Claims Associate - Consumer for an opportunity in Remote!




Position Title: Claims Associate - Consumer



Location: Remote

Anticipated Start Date: 10/21/2024

Expected Duration: 3 months



Job Type: FULL TIME (>=30 HRS WEEKLY, [CONTRACT], [REMOTE]

Pay Range: [$15.00] - [$17.00]


Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

  • Claims industry experience

  • Knowledge of first-party property and casualty claim adjudication.

  • Manage a high volume of claims and phone calls.




Job Description:


Important Dates:



Firm Start Date for Training: 10/21/2024


Training Schedule: 10/21/2024 for approximately 2 weeks, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM EST - 4:30 PM EST (1-hour lunch break).



Work Schedule:



After training, contractors can choose from the following schedules, with a start time between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM EST:


- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)


- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)



Equipment: Provided (desktop, monitors, keyboard, mouse, phone/headset). Personal device may be needed during training depending on equipment arrival.






Primary Purpose:




To process claims and determine benefits due under credit card or other financial program benefits plans. This role involves making timely payments and adjustments for specified program claims while providing superior customer service.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



- Process first-party property claims based on coverage defined by client-specific programs.


- Make coverage determinations based on thorough investigation and evaluation.


- Adjudicate proper settlements or denials within designated authority levels.


- Manage a high volume of claims, phone calls, and correspondence, ensuring accurate documentation of claim files.


- Meet quality and production goals while adhering to customer guidelines and deadlines.



Additional Functions and Responsibilities:



- Perform other duties as assigned.


- Support the organization's quality programs.



Qualifications:



Education: High school diploma or GED required; licensing is not necessary.


Experience: One (1) year of general office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Claims industry experience preferred.


- Candidates must demonstrate quick decision-making abilities and a capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.



Skills & Knowledge:



- Knowledge of first-party property and casualty claim adjudication relevant to the line of business.


- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.


- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PC applications.


- Strong analytical and interpretive skills.


- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.


- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.


- Commitment to meeting or exceeding performance competencies.



Work Environment:



Mental: Requires clear and conceptual thinking, excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle work-related stress and multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.


Physical: Computer keyboarding and travel as required.


Auditory/Visual: Requires hearing, vision, and verbal communication capabilities.
