The UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (www.pharmacy.unc.edu) is one of six health science schools (Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry, Social Work, Public Health, Medicine) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is one of the oldest health science academic programs at Chapel Hill. The Division of Pharmacoengineering and Molecular Pharmaceutics (DPMP) (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/divisions/dpmp/) in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy invites applications for a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will have research expertise in drug delivery and/or pharmaceutics. We are seeking candidates who have already established or possesses the potential to establish a competitive and independent research program. The successful candidate must have a strong track record of publications that demonstrate innovation and an interest in translating novel technologies into real-world impact for patients. Candidates are expected to contribute to the education and training of students in both the Doctoral of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) graduate program and the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) professional program in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.The selected candidate will have an appointment in the DPMP and will be eligible for membership in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC), the Carolina Institute for Nanomedicine and the Center for Nanotechnology in Drug Delivery, as well as many other institutes, departments and centers located on UNC campus. Also, UNC is in close proximity to Duke University, Research Triangle Park, and North Carolina State University who often organize and collaborate in efforts with UNC faculty. These efforts include symposia, seminars, and conglomerate groups including North Carolina Biotech Center and NCTracs. Additionally, technology development services are available through Eshelman Innovation Institute, NC Biotech Center, and Carolina Kick Start.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutics/Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
