ASC Engineered Solutions in North Kingstown is looking for a highly skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of operating both HAAS and FANUC controlled machines, ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in every project. The low-volume high-mix environment requires a strong problem-solving skillset to execute multi-step machining processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to ensure precise machining.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation and programming.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machines to ensure optimal operation.
  • Monitor machine operation and adjust programs as needed to optimize performance.
  • Continuously improve machining processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Use crane, dollies and carts to obtain and return material to and from storage area and move completed job to next operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Follow all established safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to machine operation, safety, and quality control.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment, reporting any safety hazards or deviations from standard practices.
  • Identify and assist in remediation of any and all safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Team Leader/Supervisor


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in CNC machining and programming.
  • Proficient in G-Code programming language.
  • Strong experience with HAAS and FANUC controlled machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files.
  • In-depth knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to CNC machinery and programming.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment associated with machining.
  • Must be able to be certified to operate a forklift and use hoists to pick up heavy parts.
  • General computer skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 10 years' experience setting up and operating HAAS and FANUC controlled CNC machining centers and lathes.
  • Ability to read and understand both written and oral instructions, e.g. operation travelers, safety notices and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, etc.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrated understanding of and ability to interpret blueprints and sketches.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
  • Prior experience in a dynamic environment with frequent set-ups, requiring adaptability and quick transitions between tasks.
  • Familiarity with CAM software for programming CNC machines.
  • Knowledge in MasterCAM a plus.
