Physical Requirements The essential job functions of this position require you to: communicate and build strategic working relationships with staff and other individuals from diverse -; abide by University guidelines; maintain confidentiality; prioritize and manage work effectively; work within a fact paced, time sensitive project; positively represent the University; perform work in a sedentary position; report to meetings at different locations both on campus and off campus; travel outside the local area for training; and work successfully with a team and independently.
Shift The expectation is primarily day shift Monday through Friday, however as an exempt-level position, additional hours will be required as needed to perform job duties. This position will require on call coverage that could include nights, weekends, and holidays. The expectation for this position is to be hybrid remote (some on-site required) but primarily remote.
Job Summary The EHR Systems Engineer is responsible for identification, design and coordination of system operating and management reporting and system analytics requirements. Manage resources to develop and prioritize change requests and task completion within the established timelines. Ensure build meets compliance and regulatory standards. Maintain all system design and build documents, including workflow / data flow diagrams, build trackers, and IT Service Management tools according to IT Service Management standards, policies, and procedures. Build and maintain system in accordance with approved standards and frameworks. Troubleshoot problems and questions in an effort to maintain a defect-free environment. Participate in team meetings to discuss activities, issues, change communications and updates. Participate in operational work groups to assess user feedback, gather requirements for configuration, and review system build. Contribute to testing scripts and perform testing tasks. Identify and escalate risks associated with technical project tasks. Leverages the system design to enhance the technical component workflows. Audit and perform quality assurance review and acceptance of all work product completed by other personnel within the specific domain practice. The Systems Engineer is responsible for the support, installation, and management of the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training , and non-production needs. Manage resources in the installation of the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of the EHR. Develop and document performance metrics, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues. Write and maintain scripts to improve system management tasks. Participate in change control process for all planned application and technical activities. Maintain and test processes related to business continuity. Document and maintain all system design and build documents, including workflow / data flow diagrams, build trackers, and IT Service Management tools according to IT Service Management standards, policies, and procedures. In conjunction with the CIO and CTO , build and maintain system approved standards and frameworks Troubleshoot problems and questions in an effort to maintain a defect-free environment. Conduct and attend team meetings to discuss project related activities, issues, change communications and updates. Conduct and participate in operational and integrated workgroups to assess user feedback, gather requirements for configuration, and review system build. Contribute to testing scripts and perform testing tasks. Identify and escalate risks associated with technical project tasks. Leverages the system design to enhance the technical component workflows. Preferred Education/Experience Epic Client System Administrator (ECSA) Certification (Core, MyChart, and Care Everywhere). Bachelor Degree or equivalency,2+ year experience as ECSA.
