Our precast company is a leading producer of architectural and structural wall panels, and the nation's largest producer of precast concrete parking structures. We've provided structure and enclosure systems, components, and accessories for virtually every kind of project including corporate, cultural, government, educational, institutional, multi-unit residential buildings, sports stadiums and arenas, retail, industrial, correctional facilities, and warehouse structures.

We are currently searching for a Checker to join our High Concrete team in Denver, PA. This is a Monday-Friday position, 1st shift position

A Checker is assigned to a design team and is responsible for assisting in the development of engineering designs on assigned projects.


  • Approximate time focus:



    • Design Phase – 50%

    • Shop Drawing Phase – 50%



 Essential Job Functions:


  •  Review contract drawings, specifications and other contract documents to recommend the best course of action for the team in consideration of HCG engineering’s six primary customers (Architect, EoR, GC, Production, Shipping & Erection)

  • Checking HCG 3D generated model to make sure that it conforms to HCG standards, that geometry meets expectation of contract drawings, specifications and other contract documents

  • Check Assembly Drawings generated by HCG to make sure that they agree with HCG 3D model, conforms to HCG drawing standards, that geometry\connection methodology meets expectation of contract drawings, specifications and other contract documents

  • Check all appropriate project data (material masters, all BOMs) to ensure they conform to HCG standards and provide data consistent with project requirements

  • Monitor project schedules to ensure workflow is conducted in conjunction with site, production and erection needs

  • Check production shop tickets generated by HCG to make sure that they agree with HCG 3D model, conforms to HCG drawing standards, project specific engineering requirements and is consistent with the most efficient production and erection practices (i.e. design for manufacturability) and at the highest level of quality

  •  Develop close working relationships with all internal HCG personnel and work centers

  • Communicate all items for discussion to relative parties in a clear, efficient and professional manner

  • Respond to plant and\or site requests for clarification\verification of drawings with onsite presence as required

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:


  • High School Graduate or GED (Associate Degree in Technology, BIM preferred)

  • Minimum five years related experience in the precast industry (production, erection or engineeringprocesses) and three years’ experience as a checker at HCG

  • Mastery of techniques, skills, best practices to produce all precast related drawings

  • Excellent communication skills, facilitation, organization and problem-solving skills

  • Computer skills in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Suite software

  • Record and input all proper time codes for work activities

  • Represent company at meetings and seminars as required.

  • Perform other duties and assignments as required within the scope of job responsibilities.
