This position manages and optimizes transportation operations across multiple Kimberly-Clark shipping origins and destinations for Kimberly-Clark North American Consumer, Professional, and Global Non-Wovens businesses. The position requires continuous learning and development of a deep understanding of transportation and distribution concepts and their strategic impact on Kimberly-Clark’s business. The Transportation Operations Analyst will leverage their expertise to make informed decisions that enhance both domestic and international shipping operations. This role may support specific mills/plants, carriers, or the overall Central Transportation Team.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Utilize advanced transportation management systems and data to analyze shipments and build and execute plans to ensure key performance metrics are met at minimum transportation costs.

  • Ensure lowest cost transportation by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and reviewing carrier costs and performances. 

  • Develop and communicate accurate information in an effective and timely manner, including information related to customer shipments, freight flows, transportation costs, order volume, carrier capability and related challenges in supporting daily operations.

  • Own key performance metrics for assigned sites and carriers; present and develop cost, compliance, and/or service improvement plans

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive optimal service excellence and cost efficiency and support business objectives across all parts of the supply chain.

  • Interpret and maintain compliance to all applicable shipping laws, rules, and regulations across all transportation activities.

  • Identify critical loads and leverage visibility tools to track and communicate exceptions to impacted teams

  • Utilize Lean concepts and problem-solving methods to identify, present and implement process improvement opportunities and drive sustainable cost savings and service level improvements.

  • Communicate effectively with superiors, subordinates and other internal and external customers and suppliers.  Communication should be informative, timely, clear, and concise.

  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on Supply Chain or Data Analytics

  • Co-op, intern or Full-Time experience working in Supply Chain environment

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Basic Proficiency in Excel, OneNote, Outlook and Word

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills or the demonstrated ability to develop in this area

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of transportation or logistics experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and Power BI

• Working knowledge of Blue Yonder TMS (Transportation Management System), SAP and Four Kites
