Cleveland Utilities Authority, a municipal utility providing electric, water, wastewater and fiber services to the Cleveland, Tennessee/Bradley County area, is seeking an Engineer II for Water/Wastewater.
This position is responsible for professional and minor administrative engineering work in maintaining and expanding a water distribution system and sewage collections system. Position can include design of capital projects at the water treatment plant and wastewater treatment plant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Designs projects for the construction of water and sewer mains, booster pumps, lift stations, as well as capital projects at the water and/or wastewater treatment plants. • Manage design and construction project performed by private consulting or contracting firms. • Review technical drawings, shop drawings, and progress payments to ensure they comply with project specifications. • Respond to questions and complaints from the public, consultants, contractor and other agencies. • Attend and conduct meeting, contributing to the development and implementation of new operational and administrative initiatives. • Evaluate bids and ensure contractors properly execute contract documents. • Draft proposed capital improvement and operation budgets and prepare loan and grant applications for state or federally funded projects. • Provide expertise in designing, constructing, and rehabilitating municipal infrastructure. • Prepare construction plans for water and wastewater facilities. • Must be available for after-hours duties including standby supervisor for water division. • Other duties within the department as assigned by the manager of engineering.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor's Degree (from an accredited four-year college): Required. Field of study: Civil Engineering Sanitary Engineering or related discipline. • Five years' experience in civil or sanitary engineering. • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or Civil 3D. • Professional Engineers License highly desirable but not required. • A valid Class "D" Tennessee Driver's License. • Available to work after hours when needed and perform call duty.
