Job Description:

Location: Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model (virtual and in-office) with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. This includes remote work and 1-2 days in office per week. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.


The Health Policy Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of public policy issues impacting the company's commercial health plan business and leading related activities.



How You Will Make an Impact:



Primary duties for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Develop policy positions that support enterprise objectives, ensure the availability of persuasive advocacy materials, coordinate related activities, and facilitate the flow of information between impacted areas to ensure they have timely information needed to implement key legislative and regulatory requirements


• Support the development of proactive state and federal legislative agendas related to public policy issues in their portfolio.


• Support efforts to monitor, evaluate, and track proposed legislation and regulations to identify public policy issues, assess the impact on the business, and develop recommendations.


• Partner with internal state and federal government relations teams to achieve business initiatives.


• Participate in workgroups hosted by external industry groups to represent the organization in public policy discussions and influence their positions.

Minimum Requirements:



Requires a BA/BS in health policy development; minimum of 5 years of experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.



Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:



-5+ years of health policy experience preferred.


-Knowledge of current policy issues impacting the business and industry preferred, including expertise in at least one or more of the following areas:

• State and federal regulation of commercial health plans, including ACA qualified health plans


• State and federal legislative and regulatory processes and operation of federal and state ACA marketplaces


• Regulation of employer-sponsored group health plans, association health plans, and multiple employer welfare arrangements


• ERISA

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $82,728 - $158,562.
