About the Role:



As a Geospatial (GIS) Manager at Walmart in our GSOC, you will be central to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our internal GIS infrastructure, data, and product templates. This role emphasizes support for multiple business functions, particularly security, risk, and safety. You will collaborate with internal business partners to understand their needs and translate them into actionable GIS solutions. Your ability to standardize GIS products for event types and create ad hoc products for special requests will be crucial to our operations.

  • GIS Expertise: Strong experience in GIS management, using tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and open-source/government sources.



  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in utilizing spatial data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.



  • Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain high standards for data quality and integrity within GIS systems and data sources.



  • Process Development: Experience in developing and documenting processes for efficient GIS data acquisition, analysis, and dissemination.



  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for clearly conveying insights to stakeholders through clear, concise, and compelling visualizations.



  • Team Collaboration: Strong team player with experience in coordinating, completing, and overseeing job-related activities and assignments. You demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.





What you'll do:




  • Develop and Maintain GIS Infrastructure: Develop, maintain, and enhance our internal GIS infrastructure, data, and product templates to support multiple business functions.



  • Collaborate with Business Partners: Work closely with internal business partners to understand their needs and translate them into actionable GIS solutions.



  • Manage GIS Products: Standardize GIS products for event types and build ad hoc products to support special requests. Maintain high standards for data quality and integrity within the GIS systems and data sources.



  • Process Development: Develop and document processes for efficient GIS data acquisition, analysis, and dissemination.



  • Data Visualization: Create clear, concise, and compelling visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.



  • Spatial Data Analysis: Utilize spatial data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for prevention, mitigation, response, investigation, and recovery optimization.



  • Team Coordination: Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.





Preferred Qualifications:




  • GIS Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in GIS management, data analysis, and process development.



  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and open-source/governmental data sources.



  • Communication and Collaboration: Experience working with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to communicate GIS information effectively.



  • Relevant Academic Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field is preferred.



  • Compliance: Knowledge of company policies and procedures, supporting company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$130,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
