Location: REMOTE

Salary: $50.00 USD Hourly - $70.00 USD Hourly

Description:
The Project Management Office is seeking a Project Manager to lead two key initiatives.

  • State of Maine Postal Agency: Oversee the replacement of current inserter equipment with two modern inserters, new anti-fatigue mats, and updated processes. These changes aim to reduce overhead, improve efficiency, and introduce new capabilities such as 2D barcode functionality and permit printing.


  • Maine Surplus Property with Central Services: Support the implementation of AssetWorks.



  • As a Project Manager, you will support a broad portfolio of Maine's strategic initiatives across all sixteen agencies under the Executive Branch. You will collaborate with a dynamic group of internal and external business and IT partners, leading project teams to achieve deliverables on time and with high quality. This role involves managing multiple concurrent projects from impact assessment through implementation, using methodologies such as Agile. It requires independent judgment, initiative, and discretion.

    Top 3 Skills:



    • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and a broad understanding of SDLC methodologies.

    • Experience within state government.

    • Experience working with multiple teams.


    Required Skills and Experience:



    • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree with five years of project management experience.

    • Strong understanding of government organization is preferred.

    • Ability to work effectively in both business and technical environments.

    • Proficiency with technical project management tools.

    • Initiative and ability to set and achieve stretch goals.

    • Effective negotiation skills with business and IT partners on requirements and timeframes for mid-size initiatives.

    • Ability to rally support among peers and work effectively in challenging situations.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, balancing detail gathering with problem-solving.

    • Ability to identify and apply different communication mediums based on content and audience at all levels (internal and external to Maine government) to achieve intended goals.

    • Advanced PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

    • Preference for candidates with experience managing vendors.
