About the Team and Role: We are looking for a motivated and experienced UX Researcher to support our live streaming platform, where sellers connect with buyers to showcase inventory, auction or sell items, and build community. Human-centered insights and a deep understanding of people and cultures are essential to our work. Our UX researchers guide design partners and cross-functional teams at eBay to discover, interpret, and act upon insights and opportunities. We contribute to all phases of product development and influence product and business strategy.


Responsibilities:

• Drive development and timely delivery of research for key priorities on the roadmap.


• Help drive key features, products, or initiatives based on company priorities.


• Lead primary user research to improve and define excellent customer experiences using methods such as usability studies, in-depth interviews, ethnography, surveys, diary studies, etc.


• Foster strong relationships with Design, Product, and Business partners to deliver impactful insights.


• Use storytelling techniques and workshops to communicate research insights and recommendations, helping teams turn insights into action.


• Actively contribute to the growing UX Research practice at eBay.

Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD in Anthropology, Sociology, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human Factors Engineering, or a related field with 5-7+ years of experience in applied user experience research settings (8-10+ years without an advanced degree).


• Proven experience impacting design and product decisions to benefit customers and the business.


• Deep understanding of UX Research fundamentals and advanced techniques; strong advocate for UX Research best practices.


• Expert use of UX Research tools.


• Practical experience deploying qualitative and quantitative research methods throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch in a large-scale environment across multiple teams.
