System Administrator (16509) at The Baer Group in Washington, Washington DC

Job Description:

** Federal Project - Applicant must be a United States Citizen or a Dual Citizen, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust. **


Baer is looking for a System Administrator for a 12-month Federal project located in Washington, DC.

Title: System Administrator
Location: Remote and Washington DC (1 week onsite per month)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: All-inclusive
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)

Description:

• Assist in deploying, managing, and monitoring AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, NACL, Security Groups, CloudTrail, and more.


• Configure and optimize AWS resources to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.


• Work with Security Groups, NACLs, and other AWS security features to protect and manage access to cloud infrastructure.


• Schedule and monitor system backups, and perform data recovery when necessary.


• Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to implement best practices, contribute to project success, and ensure seamless cloud operations.


• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, networking, and software as they arise.


• Stay updated with AWS technologies and best practices, with a willingness to learn new tools and platforms as needed.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience working with AWS services and infrastructure.


• Good understanding of AWS core services like EC2, RDS, VPC, and security measures such as Security Groups and NACLs.


• Willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and effectively communicate with team members.


• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux operations.


• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.


• Basic knowledge of Oracle WebLogic Application Server administration.


• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate are a plus.


• Bachelor's degree in progress or completed in a relevant field.

Public Trust Security Clearance is the lowest level of additional background screening that the federal government requires for applicants of certain jobs, which includes completing a form.
