Job Description:

Baer is looking for a Junior AWS Cloud Engineer for a 12-month Federal project located in Washington, DC.

Title: Junior AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Remote and Washington DC (1 week onsite per month)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: All-inclusive
Alignment: W2 or C2C (Vendors Not Permitted)

Description:

• Assist in the deployment, management, and monitoring of AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, NACL, Security Groups, and CloudTrail.


• Help configure and optimize AWS infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and security of cloud resources.


• Work with Security Groups, NACLs, and other security measures to safeguard cloud resources and manage access controls.


• Support the deployment and management of containerized applications using AWS services and Kubernetes.


• Work closely with senior engineers, DevOps teams, and other team members to implement best practices and contribute to the successful delivery of cloud solutions.


• Assist in writing scripts to automate routine tasks and enhance cloud operations.


• Monitor existing cloud systems for performance and integrity, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system stability.


• Participate in designing and executing tests to ensure the reliability, scalability, and compatibility of AWS cloud environments.

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience working with AWS services and cloud environments.


• Knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, etc.) and proficiency in configuring and optimizing cloud infrastructure.


• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and networking.


• Strong communication skills and a willingness to work closely with team members and senior engineers.


• Intermediate proficiency in AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and Security Groups.


• Intermediate knowledge of Linux system operations.


• Basic experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.


• Experience with DevOps tools and practices, such as CI/CD pipelines, is a plus.


• Familiarity with Oracle WebLogic application server administration is a plus.


• Experience in writing custom scripts to automate cloud infrastructure tasks is an added advantage.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
