The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
 

As a New Business Development Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Strategic Direction & Planning**: Consults with leadership to set and execute long-term strategic direction and operating plans, interpreting industry trends and customer requirements to define marketing plans across multiple businesses.


• Budget & Resource Management**: Directly responsible for strategic planning, including budget management and resource allocation to meet business objectives, approving programs and budget deviations.


• Marketing Management**: Oversees multiple marketing disciplines such as market research, product marketing, digital marketing, branding, pricing, CRM processes, and more, determining priorities and assigning resources.


• Supervision & Development**: Provides direct supervision to managers, including performance management, development, training, and leading for change.


• Problem Solving & Innovation**: Creates solutions for complex problems requiring ingenuity, creativity, and strong analytical skills, utilizing resources across departments to achieve desired results.


• Business Impact & Decision Making**: Has a major impact on the organization due to the significant scope of responsibility, with decisions affecting multiple areas and locations, establishing and enforcing concepts to expand or enhance business.


• Communication & Leadership**: Communicates with senior leaders, shares vision, demonstrates company values, provides timely information and recommendations to top executives, and negotiates on an expert level to achieve cooperation and action.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)


• Ten (10) years of Marketing and Sales experience a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master's degree from an accredited institution


• Fifteen (15) years of Business development, Business creation, value creation in a private, public, government or military environment


• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills


• Experience working on cross-functional and international teams


• Proven ability to develop and exercise project plans with minimal supervision


• Experience working with global teams


• Six Sigma certified


• A quick learner, detail oriented, organized, strong problem-solving skills and collaboration across teams, functions and organizations

Work location:

• 3M Center, Maplewood

Travel: May include up to 35%domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $259,007 - $316,564, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
