Senior Maintenance Mechanic (Head of Buildings & Grounds)
Location: Randolph Central School District
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000, based on experience
Start Date: Between December 15th and January 15th, depending on candidate availability
Position Overview:
Randolph Central School District is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic (Head of Buildings and Grounds) who will oversee and manage the overall operation and maintenance of the district's buildings and grounds. This is a supervisory role that involves direct oversight of custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping staff. The individual will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and performing skilled maintenance and repair work across various trades.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance and custodial staff, ensuring that work is completed in a timely, effective, and safe manner.
Perform and oversee routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to district facilities, including plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and structural systems.
Collaborate with the Business Administrator to develop and manage operational budgets for buildings and grounds maintenance.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and district policies.
Coordinate the maintenance of district grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and playground equipment.
Develop and maintain records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment inventory.
Liaise with contractors for specialized services or larger projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Four years of experience in either general building construction, maintenance or repair work in one or more of the standard trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, et cetra.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
