Job Summary:

This position assembles a variety of components, sub-assemblies and finished products (clippers and capital equipment) to meet the production schedule. The assembler utilizes electrical, pneumatic and mechanical prints for assembly tasks and is responsible for thoroughly testing finished assemblies and machines to ensure operation meets established specifications.



Responsibilities

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize electrical, pneumatic and mechanical prints as reference source in assembling, adjusting, fitting and aligning parts and assemblies in accordance to daily schedule.
  • Perform inspection and testing of machines and assemblies to ensure it meets criteria. This is to include completion of applicable check sheets for equipment according to product work instructions.
  • May work at different assembly stations as production needs require.
  • Notify supervision of potential quality related situations during manufacturing processes and report all non-conforming parts, materials and drawings as required.
  • Interprets and processes jobs and tasks based on daily schedule reports and supervisor updates.
  • Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision.


Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Must have at least three years’ experience working with standard tooling in an assembly area, machine shop or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess ability to read & interpret pneumatic/electrical and mechanical prints.
  • Proficient in working with decimals, fractions and blueprints.

Preferred:

  • 5 or more years hands on mechanical assembly with experience using hand tools.
  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience working with Allen-Bradley components.
  • Languages other than English

Performance Expectations:

  • Meets weekly schedule demands with less than 5% carry over.
  • Meets a quality standard of zero defects.
  • Preps work area daily with necessary supplies to minimize inefficiencies during build process
  • Resolves machine problems by troubleshooting malfunctions and defects of final assemblies
  • Must be cross-trained and able to work in all areas of Assembly as the training schedule permits.
  • Follows ISO procedures and work instructions along with attendance and overtime policies.
  • Practices good housekeeping on a daily basis to keep the work area clean and safe.
  • Results orientation: Ability to put measurements and monitoring processes in place to ensure team results.
  • Team building: Ability to use knowledge and skills such as team goal setting, decision making, and open communications to continue to develop team work among staff.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Must have the ability to work efficiently based on mechanical expertise and quickly learn other job related tasks

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Works in close quarters in a uniform cell environment.
  • Must possess manual dexterity to include good hand and eye coordination.
  • Able to read blueprints and engineering specifications to perform moderate/repetitive assembling tasks.
  • Able to lift 40 pounds consistently and 80 pounds occasionally.
  • International travel is a possibility.
  • Flexible to work late when needed; this includes Saturdays when required due to business demands.
  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory while working in the manufacturing area including safety glasses, safety toe shoes and any other necessary safety equipment as assigned.
