Overview

The Production Worker Packer will be responsible for performing quick quality inspections and packing finished product from a conveyor belt. Will need to follow direction for proper packaging procedures in a steady pace environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs a number of packing responsibilities on all production and side lines Visually inspects product and bags of product and removes substandard product from the line.
• Assembles and prepares bags and boxes for product.
• Proper stacking and placement of finished cases on pallet.
• Proper coding and sealing of bags and boxes.
• Understands different case packs and weight ranges of product.
• Performs line sanitations as directed.
• Understands company quality standards for product defects and immediately reports excessive defect levels to the Lead Packer or Team Leader.
• Performs and records various production readings.
• Assures that pallet label and sticker information is correct before affixing to the pallet and or product cases.
• Monitors packing equipment to ensure everything is working correctly.
• Able to lift/maneuver cases weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Communicates with your relief person or at shift change regarding any situations that have or may impact production operation.
• Demonstrates good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
• Performs work within company standards and efficiencies.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations.
• Performs all other work as assigned.
• Trains other workers as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Six months or more manufacturing experience preferred
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read, writes and communicate effectively

• The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Continuously required to stand.
• Occasional walking, reaching and working above shoulders, body bending, stooping, climbing stairs, body twisting/rotating, and driving a palletjack.
• Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments commonly found at plants and working with powered equipment.
• Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
